What to Expect

We understand that seeking an assessment for your child may feel frightening and overwhelming so our goal is to create a safe and collaborative space for you and your child. Your child’s assessment will help you to better understand your child so that you know what are the most helpful and appropriate supports and services.

A 15 minute phone consultation with Dr. Perugini is offered. We can discuss your questions and concerns to see if an evaluation at the Growing Minds Assessment Center will meet your needs.

An in-depth interview with Dr. Perugini is completed with you, the expert for your child, and lasts about 60-90 minutes. This can be done in-person, over the telephone, or via tele-health.

Following the interview, questionnaires will be sent and will need to be completed before the clinic assessment.

Records may be requested and reviewed.

Assessment is completed in-person with Dr. Perugini in the clinic and usually lasts about 2-3 hours. Depending on the age of your child, you and your child will be together the entire time.

Feedback of results, diagnostic impressions, and recommendations will be provided.

You will be provided with a detailed report of the findings from the assessment that is shared with you at the time of feedback. This report will help your child to access additional services like help at school, therapies, community agencies and state supports (i.e. DDD, ALTCS).
